This corporate association wanted to unlock new opportunities and increased productivity with cloud computing. We migrated its IT infrastructure to the cloud, allowing IWMA to utilise hosted email, virtualised server services and many other cloud benefits, and provided full platform and staff support.
The IWMA (International Wire & Machinery Association) has been a Microtrading client for many years. Based in Solihull, the IWMA is the world’s largest and most influential corporate association for the wire, cable and wire product industries. With a large membership and international coverage, uninterrupted access to email and the ability for management to work whilst travelling are priorities.
We were instructed by the IWMA to migrate its IT infrastructure from a shared IT platform to its own independent platform with hosted email and a virtualised server.
“Being a members’ organisation, having cloud-based email and server is invaluable. The Microtrading team is instrumental in the smooth running of our operations, ensuring that everything is secure and that we can continue working wherever we are.
“Microtrading has always provided us with excellent expert advice, and I believe their recommendations have steered us right – the functionality of our IT is testament to that.”
Andy Lewis, Executive Manager
Throughout its relationship with the IWMA, we have facilitated its safe pursuit of new technologies that increase staff productivity and create the flexibility to continue working outside of the office. The cloud migration helped the client to achieve these aims, as well as create a reliable business continuity solution, with improved system performance and recovery.
Now operating cloud-hosted Microsoft Office 365, the IWMA platform and its users are supported by our Managed IT Services. This means that systems and data can be accessed from permitted devices anywhere in the world.
A managed approach to IT infrastructure means that their business continuity is handled proactively. Any developing faults or threats are taken care of before affecting users, systems or data. The result is a reduction in downtime, increased mobility for staff looking to work on-the-go, and the freeing up of IWMA’s management to focus on day-to-day business.
