With such a mobile workforce and logistics dependent operations, this technical services provider required a cloud solution that could connect its depots. We migrated its infrastructure to the cloud and continue to provide proactive IT support, for flexible and reliable IT.

T&J Installations is one of the leading providers of technical and supply chain services to the UK drinks industry, specialising in the dispense and refrigeration of beer, cider, spirits, wine and soft drinks.

The business relies on intricate just-in-time stock management and has a large mobile workforce – with a Midlands-based HQ and regional depots supporting a national operation.

When T&J’s server was due for replacement, we recommended and implemented an infrastructure as a service (IAAS) model. This allowed them to utilise a wide range of cloud computing benefits, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. With Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, Microtrading migrated domain controllers, application servers and finance software onto Azure virtual machines, and moved T&J’s files and folders to SharePoint Online. This is all complemented by the transition to the Microsoft Office 365 for all staff.

Microtrading provides ongoing managed IT services, monitoring their system 24/7 and giving highly-skilled proactive support. With a cloud hosted server solution, T&J is able to better connect its regional depots with each other and with its Tamworth HQ. Now that the server is held in Microsoft Azure, it can be accessed from anywhere.
