Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) is a non-profit organisation and the regional, cross-sector, sustainability adviser. Their role is to act as a ‘catalyst for change’, through promoting and facilitating improvements in sustainability.
The organisation had become dissatisfied with its existing IT services provider, for a lack of proactive account management. Subsequently, SWM found Microtrading in an online search and invited us, along with three other providers, to respond to the tender. Microtrading then presented its evaluation of the organisation’s existing IT and proposal for service in person. This allowed our team to communicate directly with key stakeholders – listening, understanding and addressing their queries and requirements.
Selected for a sustainable IT strategy
SWM selected Microtrading for its attention to detail and lack of ‘hard sell’. The organisation viewed Microtrading as a provider with which it could start a journey of gradual digital development, rather than a harsh transition.
Julie Pope, Office Manager of Sustainability West Midlands, said: “Microtrading aligns with both our vision for our IT and our mission to promote and improve sustainability – that’s a great combination. SWM’s management team were also glad to see that their client portfolio includes our members and sustainable energy provider, Bryt Energy.”
Our communications capabilities are critical to our operations, and we feel they’re now in safe hands. We’re excited to begin the next leg of our IT journey with Microtrading.”
The way forward for Sustainability West Midlands
As an IT support client, the organisation will now benefit from Microtrading’s Managed IT Support and Security Services.
We will help develop SWM’s IT over time, to move away from legacy infrastructure to a more flexible platform. Consequently, this will begin with enabling the organisation to get the most out of Microsoft Office 365.
Andrew Penlington, Director of Microtrading said: “We encourage a greener approach to IT, so we’re very pleased to be supporting SWM. No doubt Microtrading will also become a greener business as a result of this new partnership.
